How can you forever waive credit cards’ annual fees?

Wednesday, September 1st, 2010

stilettochronicles asked: I sooo wanna to close my credit cards that charge these annual fees, but that won’t be healthy for my credit (report). I asked for a waiver but that will be for this year only. These are debt-free cards, I want to close them the next time they charge me annual fees…Any suggestions?Chad

What is the difference in these cards? I just turned 18 and I am looking to build my credit. I don’t want to run the risk of getting in debt and my income is pretty low so what card would be best and what are the fees?

Between my husband and I we have 10 credit cards…..We don’t use them all but have a lot of debt between them. I have tried the consolidate route and that bit me in the tail so I need a good idea to pay off asap. I have been doing the “snowball” method but still seem to be going nowhere. I have been focusing on the highest interest so maybe I should do the smallest amount first to get gratification even though paying the highest interest saves me money.

My mom has two joint credit cards with me that I never had access to. They are on my credit report, and together they have a $8,000+ balance. I fear that she might file for bankruptcy in the upcoming months. Am I able to request that those cards be taken off my report? Do I have to contact the credit card companies as well?
